We have been fortunate to have had many a feline come into our lives, sometimes for a temporary arrangement and sometimes for a lifetime. Here are a few of our treasured feline friends.
Household Pets - Glottis and Ash
My first cat show was in January 2003. I showed my domestic shorthair rescue cat Glottis. I later showed my older rescue boy Ash. I enjoyed sharing the cats and competition with other cat lovers and I was hooked. Both Glottis and Ash earned Regional Wins in the Household Pet class by competing all over the west coast. I learned about grooming and scoring while traveling with my cats and making new friends all along the way.
GP RW Transsiberie's Lunar Attack
"Lunar" was our first Siberian, coming to us in November 2003 as a neutered male. He taught me the special qualities of a Siberian and why I could never live without one again. Lunar and I traveled all over the United States to go to CFA cat shows to work towards the acceptance of Siberians for competition. Beginning in May 2006, Siberians were accepted for competition and in June, he became the first Siberian to achieve the title of "Grand" in CFA. He was a terrific ambassador for the breed educating many on the wonders of Siberians.
GC BW RW Siberkot Rocky Mountain
"Rocky" was born in June 2005 in my home. He was CFA's first Siberian Grand Champion and Breed Winner. With his charming personality and rugged good looks he achieved Regional Wins in CFA and TICA. He had a long and successful career ahead of him until he was diagnosed with idiopathic bladder obstruction requiring him to be neutered. He lives the life of luxury as a retired show cat, traveling with his mom as she visits her children in the US and abroad.
GC BW NW Folie a Deux Supurcalifragilistic DM
SupurCali came from Iris and Robert Zinck in Massachusetts in February of 2009 when she was 3 months old. The house will never be the same again. Unlike Siberians, Turkish Angoras are very energetic. Cali is very intelligent, but spontaneous and acts upon any thought that pops into her head, including "oh I would like to walk on top of the picture hanging on the wall" or "what a nice view from the ceiling fan". She is a wonderful show cat earning many Best awards. She was 4th Best Longhair Cat at the CFA International show in Atlanta, GA in November 2009. She achieved only the 2nd National Win in Championship for a Turkish Angora breed in CFA's history. She is known to most as a toy fiend, distroying many a judges teaser toy in the show ring. In addition to her National Win in Championship she also earned a National Win in agility for the 2009/2010 show season in CFA.
GC BW RW Grandbois Guimauve
Gui is a Chartreux from Nancy Dionne. She came to visit for several months in 2012 and 2013. She taught us about the Chartreux breed and helped Nancy to achieve a dream of having the best Chartreux in CFA. Chartreux have quiet personalities and are easy to care for coats. She is a very friendly gal and a terrific show cat. After completing her showing she returned to Nancy and has since had her first litter of kittens to continue the award winning bloodline.
Hey! Some look "funny".
GC San-Toi Miu of Kotchera and GP San-Toi B. Walton of Kotchera
Miu is and ebony ticked Oriental Shorthair from Dee Johnson and Connie Roberts. Orientals are the opposites of Siberians. They are long and very lean with very short coats, big ears, and loud voices. Miu loves to cuddle and be warm. Miu had her first litter of kittens in October 2013 and I am learning all about the personalities and development of the breed. "Wally" is Mui's grandson from Kotchera Trail Blazer. He is one of my nightly cuddle buddies.
GP RW Parti Wai EX Voo Doo Queen aka"Bonnie"
Bonnie came to visit in September 2014 from Penni Richter so we can learn about Exotic Cats. She is a Brown Spotted Tabby. She is a wonderful cat. She tolerates her bathing and extra grooming with style and grace. She loves to play with toys (especially plastic springs) , although she is always very gentle. She earned her Grand Premier title in just 1 show in October 2015. She is such a special girl who touched our lives she lives with us as a permanent resident. .
GP RW Caricature's Morgan Freeman
Morgan is a Bombay. Sharyn and Sig Hauck had allowed me to borrow him in January 2016 to learn about the Bombay breed. They are a very special breed created from sable Burmese and black American Shorthair cats. Morgan has a wonderful open and loving personality where every cat, person, or creature he meets must be his new best friend. He is a joy to show and have around the house. After falling in love with him, Sharyn and Sig graciously allowed him to stay in our household to enjoy every day. I can't thank them enough for the wonderful experience and the amazing new friend.
GP RW AW Nascat All Fired up of Kotchera
Fire is a Maine Coon from Donna Hinton in Texas. He is a flashy Red Tabby and white. He has lots of energy and a very large kid at 13 pounds as a 6 month old kitten. He is very good at the breed competition and the agility class. He has competed 2 times in agility and completed the course in 26 seconds at one show and 21 seconds at the second show. He earned an agility win in Region 2 for the 2013-2014 show season. He also earned a Regional Kitten Win for the 2014-2015 show season.
